About Me

It's true, I'm make up mad and when I'm not writing my weekly column in Scotland's best read Sunday newspaper The Sunday Mail or my Beauty Spot page at 5pm you can find me with brush in hand working on a blushing bride. www.craigalexanderwilson.co.uk and www.createthedream.co.uk www.5pm.co.uk

Plump me, firm me, love me......

As a beauty writer and make up artist, I really should practice what I preach. Drink lots of water. Don't smoke. Don't sunbathe. Don't pick your nose in public. Don't spend too long in front of a computer. Ooops......

Luckily for me, there are products designed to help lost causes like me, and one of the latest discoveries is from a Great British company and one of my all time favourite spa brands, Elemis.

After the success of the super-luxe Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, the development team at Elemis felt there was also a need to target the areas where sagging and lack of density are most noticeable: the lips and the eyes. The new wonder product is Pro-Intense Eye and Lip Contour Cream, due to launch in August. By using the plant stem cell Edelweiss ( I feel a song coming on) to plump up the eye contour area, testers found their wrinkles had reduced in depth after 22 days. Not bad, eh? Add in some skin supporting, protecting, moisturising and renewing ingredients and the results are clear: renewed, firmer, smoother skin around the eyes and lips. I'd happily recommend this product to anyone concerned about ageing around the eye area, but specifically for those heathens like myself who like a little bit too much of the sinful things in life. £57.00 and launches in August.

Around this time of year, my eyes are literally watering. It's either me getting emotional at one of my beautiful brides' big days, getting chocked up watching Beaches on a Sunday afternoon, or this hideous hayfever that has plagued my life since I was knee high to a spray tan booth.

I was so relieved to receive a tube of Elemis Absolute Eye Mask last week, when the pollen count was high and I was tempted to wear sunglasses 24/7 due to my puffy peepers. I applied a thin layer around the orbital area of the eye (that's the bone) and had a wee power nap for 10 minutes while the mimosa, cornflower, camellia and rose extracts helped to revitalise and rejuvenate my red raw eyes. After wiping away the excess, I looked less like I'd watched the Hallmark channel for 72 hours straight, and more like the wonderful winking Wilson you know and love. £27.00
